Key Review Themes
Based on extensive community feedback, research and analysis, we’ve proposed changes to the grant guidelines to address the themes below.
Do you think these proposed changes will better meet community needs?
Combine Grant Streams
We’re looking at combining four existing grant streams (Arts & Culture, Community Events, Community Strengthening, and Sustainability & Environmental Engagement) into one Community Strengthening Grant to make applying easier.
Would this change make the grants process clearer and easier for you or your group to use?
Co-contribution Ratios
Based on previous feedback, we’re reviewing the co-contribution (matching) ratios to make the funding requirements clearer and more proportionate. We’re proposing the following changes.
For comparison, the previous co-contribution requirement was 1:1 for all eligible amounts.
Maximum Funding Request
Previous feedback told us that the maximum funding available per application needs to be higher. In response, we’re proposing to increase the maximum grant amount in the Community Strengthening stream from $3,000–$5,000 to $10,000.
New Community Event Grant
We’re proposing a new Community Events grant stream to support local events that strengthen community life and attract visitors. With $30,000 available each year (up to $10,000 per event), potential multi-year agreements of up to three years, and eligibility for not-for-profit organisations and community groups (not commercial events).
Do these settings meet the needs of events in our community?
Applying for Future Grants
If you were applying for a grant in the future, would you know which proposed stream to apply under?
