Western Victoria Transmission Network Project

Project Overview

The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) has appointed Ausnet Services to construct and operate a 190km high-voltage transmission line from Sydenham to Bulgana.

Please note that this is not a Council led project. Feedback should be directed to AusNet Services.

Community Sessions

Moorabool Shire Council recently hosted another online community session in relation to the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project (WVTNP). It is the latest in our community series established in 2020, inviting technical experts to share their knowledge with the public on various topics to shed light on the complexities of the project.

The session was held in the lead up to the public review of the WVTNP’s Environment Effects Statement (EES), which is anticipated for later this year. The Minister for Planning declared in August 2020 that the proponent, AusNet Services, must prepare an EES for the proposed project to assist decision makers in assessing its environmental impacts. The session focused on providing general tips on how to prepare a strong submission to an EES public exhibition, and what to expect from the public review process itself. The session recording is now available to view online via the link below.

  • Community Session: Preparing a submission to an Environment Effects Statement (EES) public review
