Exhibition of Moorabool Planning Scheme Amendment C108 – Ballan Precinct 5

Project Overview

Council prepared Amendment C108moor to the Moorabool Planning Scheme, at the request of Whiteman Property and Associates Pty Ltd on behalf of Wel.Co.
The Amendment has been approved by the Minister for Planning and came into effect on 13 March 2006

The Amendment rezones approximately 98.5 hectares of land in the north-west of Ballan from Rural Living Zone to Neighbourhood Residential Zone Schedule 10, applies the:
  • Development Plan Overlay Schedule 9
  • Vegetation Protection Overlay Schedule 2
  • Environmental Audit Overlay to the subject land
  • Removes the Design and Development Overlay Schedule 2 from the subject land.

  • Whiteman Property and Associates Pty Ltd request a planning scheme amendment
  • Council considers whether to seek authorisation from the Minister to prepare and exhibit an amendment
  • Council request Ministerial authorisation
  • Ministerial authorisation granted to prepare and exhibit amendment C108
  • Council prepares and exhibits amendment C108
  • Council considers submissions received
  • Council refers submissions to a planning panel
  • Planning Panel considers submissions then prepares a report with recommendations to Council & the Minister
  • Council Considers the Panel’s report and decides whether to adopt the amendment (in whole or part) or abandon the amendment
  • Council seek Ministerial approval
  • Minister’s decision comes into effect upon gazettal
