Bacchus Marsh 1000+

Project Overview

Moorabool Shire Council is undertaking reconstruction of the existing Lerderderg Track via funding from Regional Development Victoria. The project will see the construction of over 1000 steps and lookout on the alignment of the existing Lerderderg Trail. The trail will also be renamed the Bacchus Marsh 1000+ and is the first project to be delivered as part of the larger Bald Hill Activation Project.

Consideration of Feedback

Thank you for your submissions on the preliminary design of the Bacchus Marsh 1000+.  Staff are currently reviewing feedback and working with the consultants to incorporate it into the design where we can. The design is expected to be finalised in early 2021. We received some great feedback with some common themes including accessibility, car parking, privacy and shade.

Community consultation will be held from Monday 16 November 2020 until Friday 11 December 2020.  Design of the Bacchus Marsh 1000+ is scheduled to be finalised in early 2021, with construction to commence in mid/late 2021.

A letter was sent to all residents who directly border the reserve, if you did not receive your letter please contact Councils Urban Design & Landscape Team on 5366 7100 or via email.
