Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026-2030

Project Overview

Council has prepared a Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026–2030. We want your feedback on the proposed actions to support responsible pet ownership, improve community safety, and manage dogs and cats across Moorabool. Have your say and help shape the final plan.

Moorabool Shire Council has drafted a new Domestic Animal Management Plan for managing dogs and cats from 2026 to 2030. This plan is a legal requirement and helps guide how the Council supports responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. It builds on the previous plan and responds to new issues found in a recent animal management review. Community feedback is invited between 3 and 31 October 2025, and the final plan will be adopted later in the year. The plan includes actions around pet registration, dealing with nuisance animals, educating the community, training staff, and preparing for emergencies.
