Economic Development Strategy and Visitor Economy Strategy - Phase 1 Consultation

Project Overview

Council is commencing consultation to create the new Economic Development Strategy and a new Visitor Economy Strategy. We encourage all Shire-based businesses (including tourism), the broader community, and key stakeholders to take part.

The Have Your Say process relates to phase 1 of this process: Consultation phase.

How you can get involved

There are two key opportunities to be involved:

Survey for Moorabool Shire based businesses, community, local workforce, and outbound commuter workforce:

  • Business & Community Survey open until 30 November.
  • Economic Development officers will support residents who cannot undertake the survey online with over-the-phone assistance if required - please call 5366 7100.

To complete this survey, please click here.

Virtual workshops:

Six geographically themed virtual workshops for business and community are available, with the goal to uncover localised strategic opportunities and themes across the Shire. Up to 20 attendees can book into each workshop, and a waiting list will be maintained to consider additional workshops based on demand.

Council’s Economic Development team is pleased to announce that work is commencing to create Moorabool Shire’s new Economic Development Strategy, and a separate Visitor Economy Strategy. The Strategies will identify opportunities to maximise economic, tourism and local jobs potential. Urban Enterprise consultants have been appointed to undertake both Strategies in collaboration with Council, ensuring there is robust consultation across business and community.

The consultation survey and workshops will cover both strategies on the basis that needs and opportunities related to economic development and the visitor economy, are often intertwined.
