To improve safety and security, Council is installing pathway lighting between Grey Street and Holts Lane as part of the Jonathan Drive Public Lighting Project.
We are seeking your feedback on the proposed lighting design (please see document).
he issue of poor lighting in the area was identified in the ‘Perceptions of Safety’ survey that was undertaken by Council in 2019. The project aims to improve the lighting of the path to increase perceptions of safety and increase year round use of the shared path
Council received funding through the State Governments ‘Community Crime Prevention Program’. Council is working in partnership with the Darley Neighbourhood House, Djerriwarrh Health Services, WHG and the Department of Justice & Community Safety.
The lighting design has been developed to minimise the potential for the lighting to impact on surrounding properties. This has been achieved through reducing the height of the light poles, the design of the light fitting and the spacing of the poles along the path.
