McLean Reserve Renewal

Project Overview

McLean reserve, situated on Inglis Street in Ballan, plays a significant role as a central civic space for the local community. However, the existing amenities are showing signs of wear and require upgrades to effectively cater to the needs of the community.

To address this, the Moorabool Shire Council is actively seeking community input to generate the concept design of the reserve. By involving the community in this process, the aim is to better understand their preferences and requirements. This feedback will be crucial in shaping the future concept and detailed design of the reserve, ensuring that it aligns with the needs and aspirations of the residents. Through this collaborative approach, the council intends to create an improved and revitalized McLean reserve, one that truly reflects the values and desires of the local community.

Community engagement for McLean Reserve aims to gather valuable community feedback to generate the Concept design and to gauge community support for the project. Pollen Studio, a very well-established Landscape Studio in Victoria, will provide the initial Concept Design Plan as a crucial component of the overall project.

The primary focus at this stage of the project is to understand current community use and seek community feedback on what elements should be included in the concept design. This feedback will be instrumental in shaping the future development of the reserve.

By actively involving the community in the decision-making process, the project seeks to create a revitalized McLean Reserve that truly reflects the aspirations and needs of the residents of Ballan, users of McLean Reserve and various stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to secure the necessary support to transform the reserve into a more appealing, functional, and inclusive space that benefits the entire community.
