Mount Egerton Small Township Enhancement Program (STEP) Masterplan

FAQ

Mount Egerton has been identified for inclusion in Moorabool Shire Council’s Small Township Enhancement Program (STEP). This initiative focuses on revitalising townships across the Shire by elevating amenities and cultivating a stronger sense of place, identity, and community through considered approaches grounded in Landscape Architecture and integrated infrastructure planning. Funded design opportunities within the STEP masterplan will be delivered in staged phases, as determined and coordinated by Council.

We understand that local communities know thier areas and what they need best. We want to make sure we listen to community voices and ensure the priorities included in the Mt Egerton STEP Masterplan are informed by the feedback you provide. You will be asked for feedback on areas of improvement for items such as

  • Additional footpaths within the township
  • Reserve upgrades & activation (DEECA or Council land)
  • Gateway Signage
  • Landscaping & tree planting
  • Wayfinding signage
  • Improved noticeboard

as part of this project. Once a draft masterplan is developed, we will ask again for community feedback on the masterplan, and provide you with information on how feedback from this initial round of consultation has informed the masterplan development.

Construction works are TBC. They will not be able to commence until the Mount Egerton STEP Masterplan has been endorsed by Council. Once the Masterplan has been adopted (anticipated to take place in early 2026), we will provide the community with information regarding when works are to be scheduled.
