Ballan Integrated Transport Strategy

Project Overview

Moorabool Shire Council invites the community to review and provide feedback on the draft “Ballan Integrated Transport Strategy (BITS)”. Your feedback will help finalise a strategy that supports Ballan’s future growth, ensuring safe, connected, and sustainable transport for all. Feedback can be provided until 5pm AEST 21 November 2025.

The Ballan Integrated Transport Strategy (BITS) provides a long-term vision to guide how Ballan will grow and move over the next 20 years.
It considers all modes of transport — walking, cycling, public transport, and private vehicles — to ensure the town develops in a connected, accessible, and sustainable way.

The draft Strategy builds on findings from the 2023 Ballan Transport Study, which analysed the capacity and performance of Ballan’s Road network. It also reflects feedback received during the first round of community consultation in December 2024, where residents identified priorities such as safer pedestrian crossings, improved parking, better public transport options, and enhanced active transport links.

As Ballan continues to grow — beginning with Precinct 5 and followed by future precincts — BITS outlines how Council will plan, advocate, and prioritise infrastructure upgrades to support this development.
