Positive Ageing Plan 2026 - 2029

FAQ

The Positive Ageing Plan will guide Council’s work to support older people to live well, remain connected and participate in community life.

Positive ageing means having opportunities to maintain wellbeing, independence, social connection and participation as we age. It recognises that every person’s experience of ageing is different.

We welcome feedback from older residents, carers, family members, service providers, community organisations and anyone interested in supporting positive ageing in Moorabool.

We want to understand what helps people age well in Moorabool, the current and emerging challenges facing older people, and the priorities Council should consider.

Council can influence areas such as community information, facilities, public spaces, programs, events, social connection and community participation. Feedback may also identify matters requiring partnership or advocacy.

Some health, aged care, housing and transport services are managed by other levels of government or external providers. While Council may not directly control these services, feedback can help identify opportunities for advocacy, partnerships and improved access to information.

Feedback will be analysed and used to inform the priorities and actions included in the draft Positive Ageing Plan.

Yes. The survey is available online and in hard copy, and feedback can also be provided by telephone. There will also be face to face sessions with a Council Officer to provide your feedback. Please contact Council if you require assistance or another way to participate.

Council will use the initial feedback to develop the draft Positive Ageing Plan. The community will then be invited to review the draft before the final Plan is presented to Council for adoption.
